| بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ | |
| In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. | |
| وَيْلٌ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٍ لُّمَزَةٍ |
01 |
| Woe to every slanderer and backbiter. | |
| الَّذِي جَمَعَ مَالًا وَعَدَّدَهُ |
02 |
| Who has gathered wealth and counted it, | |
| يَحْسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُ أَخْلَدَهُ |
03 |
| He thinks that his wealth will make him last forever! | |
| كَلَّا لَيُنبَذَنَّ فِي الْحُطَمَةِ |
04 |
| Nay! Verily, he will be thrown into the crushing Fire. | |
| وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْحُطَمَةُ |
05 |
| And what will make you know what the crushing Fire is? | |
| نَارُ اللَّهِ الْمُوقَدَةُ |
06 |
| The fire of Allâh, kindled, | |
| الَّتِي تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى الْأَفْئِدَةِ |
07 |
| Which leaps up over the hearts, | |
| إِنَّهَا عَلَيْهِم مُّؤْصَدَةٌ |
08 |
| Verily, it shall be closed in on them, | |
| فِي عَمَدٍ مُّمَدَّدَةٍ |
09 |
| In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). | |
